Гугл Earth - клиентское ПО для работы с трехмерной моделью Земли, сделанной на базе спутниковых фото высочайшего разрешения. Широкие способности по изменению масштаба изображений (время от времени прямо до отдельных домов), и почти все другое, включая определение координат обьекта. Карту можно просматривать карту под хоть каким углом; большая часть карты - это обыденные 2D-фотографии, но некие объекты (населенные пункты) представлены в виде трехмерных моделей. Для комфортабельной работы c Гугл Earth требуется современный компьютер и скоростное соединение с Вебом (вобщем, можно работать и через dial-up, но только получится медлительно).
